After you blow-dry with heat, go over your hair with cold air from the dryer (most blowers have a cool shot). It makes hair shiny and smooths out kinks.

It really helps to use a towel to dry your hair a little before using the dryer. Don't get it too dry, though, because then it's harder to get out the curl.

To prevent frizzies use a small amount of olive oil or even baby oil (but olive oil is much better for your hair). Apply the oil to damp hair or towel-dried hair.

Ladies, ladies, ladies...Beware when ironing your hair with a clothes iron. If you do not cover your hair and you leave the iron on it for too long, your hair will singe (trust me, it's happened to me!). The singed hair cannot be cut out or covered up...It's shocking! I let my hair air-dry for about 20 minutes, then I flip my head upside down and blow dry my hair while combing it with my fingers. The finger combing gets the curl out and adds some lift at the roots. Finally, I just hit the ends with a ceramic flat iron, and I'm done in 25 minutes.

I have medium-long, thick, curly hair. I had the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning done 2 years ago. My normally dark-brown hair was highlighted at the time, and after 2-3 months my hair began breaking off. I couldn't do the reconditioning again, I had to let my hair grow out.
